Marching Band The Pride of Bryan Marching Band is made up of all students 9th-12th grade in the high school band program. The band performs at all BHS pep rallies, varsity football games, marching contests, and community events. In accordance with the Texas No Pass, No Play Law, students must earn passing grades for all classes at the end of the six weeks grading period. Students not meeting the grading requirements will not be eligible to participate in before, during, or after school performances.  Much of the fall semester the marching band will rehearse to prepare the halftime/contest show. The rehearsal requirements are quite rigorous. There are many events which occur throughout the late spring, summer, and fall which pertain to the marching band. Wind Symphony is under the direction of Ms. Laura Grems. The band performs advanced level concert band literature and is expected to perform at the highest caliber. As a result, participation in the Wind Symphony is quite rigorous and requires significant practice. Students are required to attend sectionals and one-on-one sessions outside of school throughout the year. Due to the Texas No Pass, No Play Law, students must earn passing grades for all classes at the end of the six weeks grading period. Students not meeting the grading requirements will not be eligible to participate in the All-Region selection process or any UIL Solo and Ensemble event. 


Members are required to learn and pass-off the high school All-Region etudes and audition for the all-region band. Students are also required to participate in the UIL Solo & Ensemble competition. Members are strongly encouraged to get involved in our private lesson program. Auditions for all bands will be held in May for the following school year.

As a result, participation in Symphonic Band is quite rigorous and requires significant practice. Students are required to attend sectionals and one-on-one sessions outside of school throughout the year. Due to the Texas No Pass, No Play Law, students must earn passing grades for all classes at the end of the six weeks grading period. Students not meeting the grading requirements will not be eligible to participate in the All-Region selection process or any UIL Solo and Ensemble event.

Concert Band  is under the direction of all BHS Band Directors. Concert Band performs intermediate level high school music and is expected to perform at the highest caliber. Students not meeting the grading requirements will not be eligible to participate in the all-region selection process and all UIL sanctioned events.  Students are also encouraged to get involved in our private lesson program.  The Concert Band performs at several concerts throughout the year including our annual winter and spring concerts as well as UIL Concert/Sight-Reading Contest. Color Guard is under the direction of Ms. Jenna Pustejovsky. The Color Guard is part of the Pride of Bryan Marching Band in the fall and has their own winter guard season from November through April. The Color Guard is made up of 9th-12th grade students who serve as the non-instrument performing section that provides additional visual aspects to the marching band performance. The color guard utilizes equipment, props, and movement to express dynamic passages within the show music. 

 During the winter season, the guard participates in its own indoor season known as winter guard. The purpose of the Color Guard is to interpret the music that is being played via the synchronized spinning of flags, sabers, rifles, and through dance.


The Color Guard performs at all BHS pep rallies, varsity football games, marching contests, and community events. During the winter guard season, the color guard travels across Texas to compete in the TCGC and WGI circuit competitions. Due to the Texas No Pass, No Play Law, students must earn passing grades for all classes at the end of the six weeks grading period. Students not meeting the grading requirements will not be eligible to participate in before and after-school events.
